Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together; set aside. Cream butter,
sugars, and vanilla together until light and fluffy, scraping sides
of bowl as needed. Add eggs one at a time, scraping bowl after each
addition. Add dry ingredients and mix on low speed until almost blended.
Scrape the bowl; add orange zest, chocolate chips, and nuts. Mix just
until blended.
Drop the dough by slightly rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches
apart onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Flatten with the bottom
of a glass dipped into orange juice. Bake about 15 to 16 minutes,
until golden in color. Let sit on cookie sheets for a minute or two
before removing to a cooling rack.
